hey everybody, i'm here today with my goodfriend vanessa and what we're going to show you how to make is an all natural tinted lipbalm - it is absolutely to die for, it moisturizes the lips, there is some really nourishingproduct in it and the tint makes it really nice so it can replace your lipstick, yourlip gloss and vanessa is going to show you everything that we need to make it. it's afantastic gift for your friends, we will get going. items you will need to make the lip balm includesome little jam jars or even left-over cosmetic containers, you will also need some coco butterchips, these are very inexpensive. to add a scent to the lip balm, i've chosen a 100%pure peppermint essential oil, some beeswax,
again very inexpensive, to add color to thelip balm we are using red beet soluble crystals, you will also need coconut oil, some oliveoil, and also a double boiler. and vanessa is going to show us the amounts that we needfor everything and how we prepare it. great, so we put in three tablespoons of oliveoil, and we are going to use two tablespoons of coconut oil, and we're also going to useabout 15 grams of the coco butter chips, approximately 10 of these little chips. where did you find these? at a health foodstore. and then we're going to use about 15 gramsof beeswax. you're looking at a thumb size chunk of beeswax. i'm just going to cut itin slightly smaller pieces to help along the
melting process. and this must be an essential part of thelip balm. yes, this is what is going to solidify it. and then from there we are going to meltthis down and once it is melted we'll add in the essential oil and the beet crystal. alright, let's get her cooking. so you needabout an inch of water in the bottom of your pot and then put your bowl over it and putit on medium heat until it starts to boil. show them what that looks like. so it all melted and has come together nowand it's starting to cool so it is hardening back up again. what we're going to do nowis just put a couple of drops of peppermint
oil (optional) and the last ingredient is going to be the beet crystals. so we're actually just going to dissolve itfirst and i'm going to start with two teaspoons and then we're going to just add a littlebit of water in, you really don't need very much to dissolve it. we can do like a quarterof a teaspoon of water and we're just going to mix it up until it's a nice smooth liquidypaste. it's starting to come together, it is such a beautiful color. we're just going to add the color. this isobviously good to do when the lip balm base is still warm. i picked this one for you, i noticed it'syour favorite. can we call it katie stiles
lip balm? we can! there should be a high demand for it. so theni guess this is probably a good time to fill the jars, before it solidifies. so vanessacame up with some really good ideas for containers for the lip balm -- this is one of the cutestbecause it is a great gift size. vanessa will show you how she skillfully fills them. sheis using like a wide popsicle stick. it just makes them so much easier to fill. do you keep them uncovered? no you can justput the top on. and then what i would do for gifts is i would put little labels on it andcall them katie stiles berry kiss or something
like that. that is awesome. thank you for sharing yoursecret! i'm going to run with it and with the rest of my youtubers as well. i reallyappreciate it. it smells delicious!
